Geauga County, Ohio – The annual music festival known as LaureLive went on this past weekend to the delight of returning fans . The two day long festival brings both major name artists and up and coming performers on same stage to allow music fans to hear music of all genres .We had to cut out time there short due to sun poisoning but for what we did get to witness , was a well oiled machine where the fans , the artists and the vendors were all happy as one .
One of the shining stars on the rise we saw was Julia Thompson, her stage presence and emotional vocal delivery proves she is a stare in the making , look out for more of her .
JD Eicher opened the show and really showcased the amazing talent we would see all weekend .
The crowd favorite prize goes to Alec Benjamin ,whose female audience almost pierced your ears but the adoration was well deserved .This young man did a great job and I look forward to seeing him again .
On the instrumental side was the amazing guitar work of Rodrigo Y Gabriela and our main photo is The Blue Stones !
Awesome Vendors were on hand such as Roll House whose fun time establishments offer food, games and escape rooms !
All in all this is a fun festival for everyone and I cant wait for 2020 because it promises to be even bigger !!!
The organizers could write the book on how to put on a top notch festival !
Chesterland ,Ohio-The folks at Laure Live 2017 really know what they are doing. The minute you walk onto the grounds you can actually feel the difference between this and other music festivals . Yes you had to empty your water container but you replaced it with ice cold spring water all through the day .Instead of the regular concert food fair you had a choice of amazing food trucks with a healthier alternative to the regular blah festival food .Instead of just arena grounds you had this sprawling mecca of nature and some of the best unique vendors to peruse in between bands. Some of my favorites were BoHo Faux and Love,Hope ,Strength which is punk rockers joining forcers to help combat bone marrow cancer.Music was well represented by the radio station The Summit FM and movies by the Greater Cleveland Film Commission.
The first artist of the day was directly from Hawaii ,Miss Liv Cargile who put on a wonderful performance to awaiting fans and that is no simple feat especially for a 16 year old .
The only Akron area band was none other than the Shivering Timbers who I saw a couple of years ago and was glad to see on the bill !
Some of the other acts of the day were Austin Plaine ,The Arkells ,Cobi and Johnny Swim who all gave great performances .
Some of the big names on the bill were world renounced singer songwriter and Ohio native Kate Voelgle and the amazing Blue October
The only disadvantageous condition was that it was too hot that day but as good as the promoters were even they could not control the weather . If you decided to only one festival next year I highly recommend Laure Live . A festival for the young and the young at heart .
