Wizard World Cleveland Comic Con Draws Fans Amid Corona Virus Scare

Cleveland, Ohio- The event organizers were prepared with bottles of Purell and signs posted in the restrooms reminding patrons to wash their hands and think of others. The crowd was lighter this year compared to the previous years but then the thought a possible global pandemic can have an effect on ticket sales and the size the audience .Never the less it was not going to stop the die hard fans from showing off their cosplay skills and meeting your favorite artist and stars. Star Wars and Star Trek were well represented along with Outlander and more animated shows then can be mentioned here . Some of my my favorite booths were Ted Sikora or Apama and Tap Dance Killer fame and Emily Szalkwski of My Asylum were some of the Cleveland’s top artists in attendance .

The celebrity talks and panels are always a fan favorite with surprise antidotes to delight the surprise the audience .I attended the talks of Jim Steranko ( an amazing speaker and the best dressed guest in pop culture ) who is the real life version of the worlds most interesting man .

The packed panel of Caitriona Balfe ( of Outlander ) gave an extended talk about her life and behind the scenes of the series .

The Netflix series Stranger Things was represented by Cary Elwes ( The Princess Bride / Twister ) who gave behind the scenes stories of his works in a very humorous and fun way.

Wallace Shawn who has a four decade long career spoke of Star Trek Deep Space Nine , working with Woody Allen and being tied to Andre The Giant among many other subjects.

Star Wars and Disney Plus were in the house with Emily Swallow who is on Star Wars The Mandarlorian and Supernatural. her talk was so much fun and she is such a talented performer .

Voice acting was the highlight of the con as Phil Lamarr gave advice, samples and stories of his life in the industry .

Like all great cons, cosplay was king and there were a ton of fans representing their favorite pop culture such as Ghost Busters , Star Trek and many others .

If you have a Wizard World coming to your area, we highly recommend you check out a day of fun , family entertainment with memories that will last a life time .

Nostalgia fans are sure to be pleased with this mega- film !

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, or simply Rogue One, is a 2016 American epic space opera film directed by Gareth Edwards and written by Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy, from a story by John Knoll and Gary Whitta. Set within the Star Wars universe, it is the first stand-alone film in the anthology series. Rogue One stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker, and follows Jyn Erso as the daughter of the unwilling designer of the Galactic Empire‘s superweapon, the Death Star.

Produced by Lucasfilm and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film is chronologically set between Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005) and Star Wars: A New Hope (1977).

This is one film I have been waiting for since I was a child .Every kid on the block made up their own Star Wars stories to enhance their action figure collection and I was no different .The pure creativity and raw talent that went into making  Rogue One a reality really shown thru on the silver screen . A pure labor of love for the child inside all of us. The CGI must be seen to be believed and for the ultra geek this film blends in effortlessly with the 1977 original . It’s rare that a film gets 5 stars but this one does and deservedly so. Dare I  say the best film since The Empire Strikes Back .I refuse to give spoilers away as suffice to say that you will not be disappointed in the project and Disney did a great job ! I hope to see you all at the movies and may the force be with you .
