THE VOICE OF “EYE OF THE TIGER” DAVE BICKLER HITS THE LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT AND COMMENCES WORK ON SECOND SOLO ALBUM

The voice on one of the most instantly recognizable and celebrated rock anthems of all-time recently appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to reprise his singing role in this iconic song, this time aimed at the recovery of the Tiger recently on the loose in Texas. Dave was contacted by his label Deko Entertainment early Monday morning after the show had reach out to them to get Dave to participate in the opening of Monday night’s show. Dave had this to say about it, “I had to find new gear to keep up with the late show crew….Super fun!!”

Dave released his first ever solo album ‘Darklight’ in 2019, the ten-track album recalls the singer’s classic rock roots with a modern sound – and features contributions by the likes of Ryan Hoyle (Collective Soul) on drums, Brad Smith (Blind Melon) on bass, Grammy nominated producer Steve DeAcutis (Vanilla Fudge, Corey Glover, Vinnie Moore, Overkill, etc.), and Grammy Award winning mastering engineer Alan Douches (Fleetwood Mac, Yes, Mastodon, Monster Magnet, etc.).

Work has commenced on his follow up to ‘Darklight’ which he hopes to complete later this year. ‘Darklight’ is available on both CD and Vinyl from Deko Entertainment and there is a small quantity of autographed items available while supplies last.

Band Spotlight-1988

In case you didn’t know it but Ohio is one of the best states for music , we do have the Rock Hall ( okay its more of entertainer hall of fame ) but one thing we have is musicians . Members of Kiss, Guns N Roses , Black Veil Brides , Faster Pussycat , The James Gang, The Eagles ,Warrant , Steel Panther, Nirvana and many many more call Ohio their birth state . However besides the bands and names you know, there are a plethora of amazing and talented bands you do not know .

One of the bands you do not know but should is Ohio’s own ” 1988 ” I am not sure on the age of this band but 20 years is a pretty close estimate . Not only do they keep the best of the hair bands music alive , in the 1980’s and 1990’s they were the ones making the music happen playing right on stage with the bands dominating MTV and Headbangers Ball .

The band’s current line up is founder and bassist Dave Belanger ,singer and co-lead guitarist Alex Schreckemgost, co-lead guitarist Rob Draye and last but not least is drummer extraordinaire Todd Shelly . I call him thats because he can sing so well he rivals David Coverdale .The entire band sings and plays but it is the love of the music and the enjoyment on the faces of the crowd that keeps this band motivated. After the year plus of Covid 19 we have all had , we can definitely use a night of fun .

If you are out and about and see ” 1988 ” on a marquee on in a flyer make sure you check them out and if you want to learn more about them check out the official website at http://www.1988rocks.com

MEGADETH & LAMB OF GOD The Metal Tour Of The Year

Rescheduled North American Dates For The Co-Headline TourSpecial Guests Trivium & In Flames

It’s time. MEGADETH and LAMB OF GOD cannot be stopped and today announced the rescheduled run of the Metal Tour of the Year. Joining them, as previously planned, will be special guests TRIVIUM and IN FLAMES, heralding the long-awaited return to the stage for these bands, who are every bit as excited about these historic and not-to-be-missed shows as fans are. Tickets for the rescheduled dates will go back on-sale beginning Friday, May 7th at 10am local at LiveNation.com.

MEGADETH, fueled by Dave Mustaine’s triumphant return to the stage following his diagnosis and recovery of throat cancer, will finally embark on their first North American tour since 2017. Speaking on the long-awaited announcement of the rescheduled run, MEGADETH’s leader and frontman, Dave Mustaine says

“Can you hear that sound of armies on the march – of destruction on the horizon? That’s this tour, coming for you. We cannot wait to return to the stage and I promise you you do NOT want to miss these shows. You’re not going to know what hit you!”

LAMB OF GOD pressed ahead with the release of their crushing self-titled album, Lamb of God, which was one of the best-selling metal albums of 2020. The band now looks to take the show on the road as they return to the stage for the first time since the release of the record. Randy Blythe, inimitable frontman of LAMB OF GOD, adds

“It’s been far too long since we got together to do our thing— by ‘we’ I mean bands, road crew, bus drivers, truck drivers, local venue staff, vendors, audience, parking lot attendants, the freaking janitors- the whole damn enchilada. ALL OF US. TOGETHER. Everyone has been waiting, but the time has come to put the puzzle back together— I honestly don’t think I’ve ever been more ready to hit the road with lamb of god. See y’all in a few months with Megadeth, Trivium, & In Flames.
Over a year with no live music? These shows are gonna be INSANE…”

TRIVIUM’s Matthew Kiichi Heafy adds

“The Metal Tour of the year couldn’t be stopped by anything. It is still happening, and we can’t wait to bring back shows with this monumental tour. We’re ready. Are you?”

With IN FLAMES singer, Anders Fridén stating

“I can’t really describe how good it feels to be really talking about going on tour, let alone The Metal Tour of the Year. This setup is long overdue and we can’t wait to finally make it happen.”

Produced by Live Nation, the epic, rescheduled tour will now kick off on Friday, August 20th in Austin, TX and hit a further 26 cities before wrapping in Quebec City, QC on Saturday, October 2nd . Full tour itinerary below.

All previously purchased tickets for any of the rescheduled dates listed below will be valid for the new date. For any cancelled dates, refunds will automatically be processed at your point of purchase.
